Dougherty will show up as AG
During a May 7 Attorney General debate in Denver, I observed that the responsibilities of the next winning candidate will be as serious as a heart attack, but only one appeared to understand the depth of this gigantic challenge.
Only one impressed me that they will be ready on day one to organize teams of crime fighters to prosecute scammers and violent crime rings.
Only one had the clout to secure Colorado water rights as the Colorado River Compact deadline arrives this year, and as a Colorado-hating Trump hovers to transfer our water shares to red states.
It’s “game on” now, yet Candidate Jena Griswold chose not to attend and has also skipped all five previous debates.
A second candidate also chose not to attend. It’s nice to have prosecutor experience except when you are Hetal Doshi, and her name is all that I learned about her that night.
Candidate David Seligman described past lawsuits waged for prisoners still forced to do work and beleaguered Amazon workers being overworked with no breaks. His demeanor was pleasant and succinct, but I could not overlook that it was like watching college hockey vs. the NHL when debating candidate Michael Dougherty.
Dougherty presented his case to be our next attorney general that left out no detail. He was precise and has the strength to win for Colorado. Dougherty has traveled 17,000 Colorado miles, truly “showing up.” He requests only the honor of our votes.
