WHAT IS BACKCOUNTRY EXPERIENCE'S VISION?
I We help our customers truly live their passions. Period. It's about their experience inside what we think of as an old-fashioned gear I shop; where we sell leather hiking boots, giant backpacks, but also the most advanced outdoor gear on the market from brands with I stories that we believe in.

WHAT IS COLORADO TRAIL DAYS AND WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE THREE DAY EVENT?
We love our trails and so four years ago we decided to celebrate them, specifically, the Colorado Trail and Trails 2000. The non-profit not only builds and maintains all of the local singletrack in and around Durango, but also oversees the largest section of the CT. Our three day event is ultimately a way to educate, entertain, and support Trails 2000 through fundraising and fun. We'll have tons of great speakers, a film festival, a group run and hike with Salomon, and the Outdoor Research tiny house.

WHAT IS THE TINY HOUSE? WHAT IS BEING USED FOR?
We've been a proud partner of Outdoor Research for years, and their tiny house, built by Zack Giffin of Tiny House Nation, travels around the country. The house itself is a symbol of low impact. This year, Backcountry Experience and The San Juan Mountain Association partnered up to bring OR's tiny house to the Ice Lakes' trailhead where it will be staffed by volunteers in South Mineral Creek to carry the message to explore, learn and pre-serve-- especially as it pertains to sensitive places like Ice Lakes Basin outside of Silverton.

WHY DOES BACKCOUNTRY EXPERIENCE BELIEVE IN GETTING FOLKS EDUCATED AND ON THE TRAILS?
We've all been saying, "think global, act local." To Backcountry, that means seeing the big picture, but also doing what we can in our own backyard. Everyone is in this together and Backcountry's goal is to stir a community of stewards because these mountains and deserts we all call home are special. It's up to everyone to take care of them.

WHY SHOULD WE ALL CO TO COLORADO TRAIL DAYS?
To learn new things, and meet those progressing the outdoor culture. It's a time to ask questions and make connections. We also I certainly hope people get their gear repaired for free at the Osprey I and Exped repair stations, too--that's super cool.

WHAT IS BACKCOUNTRY EXPERIENCE EXCITED ABOUT?
To showcase the caliber of speakers and participants at this year's event. And we're excited about the future. With organizations and brands establishing standards in stewardship, there will be new ways for people to support the things they love. I'd say keep your eyes peeled for some cool events that make a difference. Think global, act local.
