Drive-up testing site opens at Durango Library
Need a COVID test? San Juan Basin Public Health, in cooperation with La Plata Integrated Health, Animas Surgical Hospital and others, has launched a new in-town community testing site. Located in the Durango Public Library overflow parking lot on the corner of East Third and 20th Street, the drive-up site will be open 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
Initially, testing will only be open to people in the high and medium priority categories:
• High priority: people with COVID-19 symptoms and those notified of exposure by SJBPH or another public health agency.
• Medium priority: people with no symptoms or identified exposure but who live or work with high-risk populations such as: congregate living or high-risk work settings (first responders, long-term care facilities, detention facilities); people experiencing homelessness; and employees of high-risk workplaces.
Testing may open to others as more resources become available.
Cedar Diagnostics and Mercy Medical Center also provide local COVID testing.
