Bennet's backscratching

Michael Bennet worked originally as a private investment advisor for arch conservative Philip Anschutz but was appointed to his first public position by then-Mayor John Hickenlooper. Gov. Ritter then appointed Bennet to the U.S. Senate in 2010, where he’s been ever since. And now? Now Bennet wants to be elected governor so that he can appoint his own successor in the Senate. Wow. That’s a lot of backscratching.

And you know who’s financing Bennet’s current governor race? Billionaire Michael Bloomberg of NYC (not Colorado). $2.5 million so far, which is why your social media is flooded with Bennet bashing his opponent Phil Weiser. By investing, Bloomberg buys TWO seats: governor and U.S. senator.

Conversely, 90% of Phil Weiser’s contributions are from individual Coloradans. He’s worked his way up through the ranks – first, clerking at the Supreme Court for Ruth Bader Ginsberg, then serving President Obama. (Not appointed, hired.) Then, as Dean of the CU Law School, Weiser started two different nonprofits to aid entrepreneurs. And for the past eight years, he’s been a fierce, reliable attorney general for us all. He wants to bring his vision and expertise to be our governor. Please, support Phil Weiser for governor in June – because Weiser’s not the kind of guy to appoint his own successor.
