Weiser best trained for the job
What is the best possible training to be governor? Attorney general. In fact, 11 current governors were initially AGs, including luminaries like Josh Shapiro and Andy Beshear. Why? Because the AG works intimately with counties across each state, learning particular issues and concerns and how to best navigate them.
Opioids in your community? Our AG sued and used the settlement to fund addiction treatment. Too few grocery store options? Our AG blocked harmful corporate mergers that would drive up local prices – particularly for rural communities like ours. Water rights being sold to the highest bidder? Our AG is the one to ensure water stays in rural agricultural areas like San Luis Valley rather than allowing it to be piped off to the Front Range by developers.
AG Phil Weiser has been in on-the-job training for the position of governor for eight years, both in our communities and in all the governmental departments that make our lives better or worse. He can help us solve our problems and thrive in the next decade.
