Weiser champions public lands

I have been hugely thankful to Sen. Michael Bennet for his excellent work protecting our most revered places, like Hermosa Creek. He’s also fought for decades to protect the Dolores River watershed. Most of us know Bennet from that work and deeply appreciate it.

But his more recent actions in Congress, in the spirit of “getting along” with as many in the Trump administration as he can, have undermined much of that good work. He supported Rollins as the Secretary for Agriculture, who has since pursued abolishing the Roadless Rule in the U.S. Forest Service and certainly has decimated its personnel. And Bennet supported Doug Burgum as Secretary of Interior, who has also gutted his department, opened national parks to off road vehicles and is trying to privatize and sell off many of our public lands.

That’s not the kind of state leadership I want. I want Phil Weiser, a man who has shown consistently good judgement and who offers sound plans to make our lives – and public lands – better and safer.
