Painted Desert
At an abandoned gas station on the Navajo Nation in Black Mesa, Ariz., the building may be empty but the walls are full of life. Over the years, wheat-pasted photos and murals have come and gone, much like the traffic zooming along this dusty stretch of Highway 160. The artwork is part of The Painted Desert Project, which connects artists to mural opportunities on the Navajo Nation. To learn more, visit: jetsonorama.net.
