Pride on parade

Life is better in color, especially a lot of bright, vivid, rainbow ones. And in case you didn’t notice, last week, Durango was bathed in them. For 17 years, the 4 Corners Alliance for Diversity has hosted the Durango Pride Festival, a days-long celebration for all to come out and support the LGBTQ community and equal rights for all. Last Saturday's Pride Parade helped do just that with balloons, roller skates, tutus and a giant rainbow flag floating down Main Avenue. As the procession danced toward Buckley Park, parade participants called out to bystanders to "join the party," which many did, for an afternoon of music, beverages, food and fun.
