Rocking out

Sometimes the best thing you can do for Halloween is grab a funny costume and a couple of friends and escape to the desert for a weekend of climbing, games, campfires, food and laughter. A couple hours west of Durango near Disappointment Valley lies a thankfully not-yet-saturated piece of land with beautiful valleys surrounded by tall spires of climbable and hikeable sandstone. And best of all, there was not a zombie, ghoul or clown in sight.
