Run like a girl

It's no secret that growing up is hard, but with the nonprofit organization Girls on the Run, some girls get a little help. With after-school self-esteem classes, girl bonding time and volunteer coaches, the international organization helps give girls the courage it takes to be strong and confident. Celebrating its 20th year in existence this weekend, GOTR held its second annual race in Durango on Saturday. An estimated 800 runners showed up to Fort Lewis College for a 5k lap around the campus, with many folks cheering them on, making it Durango's biggest, and most girly, running event.
