A song for Gina
Now, there’s a reason to feel good about your bad singing. Next Fri., Dec. 15, the Animas City Theatre will host “Karaoke for a Cause,” a benefit for Cuckoo’s employee Gina Cottom.
Cottom, who has been a fixture in the local restaurant scene for years, is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. All funds will be donated to assist her and her family with medical and on-going expenses as she is out of work.
Doors open for liquid courage and vocal warming-upping at 6:30 p.m., at 8:30 p.m. There will also be a silent auction and the Colorado Restaurant Association will be matching all tips raised throughout the night, up to $1,000.

Turns out, blondes do have more fun, or at least they get more awards. Last week, Ska Brewing won the gold medal for its True Blonde Ale in the English-Style Pale Ale category at the 2026 World Beer Cup. This is the third win for the Blonde at the World Beer Cup, held in Philadelphia on April 22 and pegged as one of the world’s most prestigious beer competitions.
