It’s a mash-up made in Westernwear heaven. Sort of. Seems Chaco, the purveyor of the iconic strappy dirtbag river rat footwear, has joined forces with Wrangler, as in tight jeans, big belt buckles, bull riding and snap shirt fame.

Wait, what?

OK, so maybe there is a little bit of a common thread here, if you will. After all, both brands do cater to rodeos – whether it be whitewater or the livestock kind. And those snap shirts make for some spiffy sun protection on and off the river. So maybe it makes sense, kind of sort of?

Marketed under the tagline "Western Roots, Wild Soles," the eight-piece unisex collection includes Chaco’s flagship Z/1 sandal done up in a denim print strap (we’re guessing faux denim) complete with iconic Wrangler patch logo. There is also a suede clog with western embroidery and silver buckle as well as some wild print button-ups guaranteed to ensure you ride the rapids in style and are the envy of Guzzle Beach.

We’re not sure what’s next, but we can only imagine that Carhartt life jackets aren’t too far behind.

Getting gassed

Gas prices are once again giving America something to complain about. And while the local beer meisters at Ska Brewing can’t fix the price at the pump, the brewery is offering one small bit of relief: a new light beer that costs one cent less than the price of a gallon of unleaded gas.

Introducing Ska’s newest brew: West’s Easy Light Lager, because “everything else is so hard.”
