Power to the people
Ever wondered how to change the world but were afraid to ask? Next Wed., March 1, local nonprofit activist group “Our 1st 100 Days” will be holding a “teach-in” from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Powerhouse.
“It’s designed to be an informative event where you can learn effective resistance techniques and information about our country and our rights,” organizer (and Telegraph cartoonist extraordinaire) Shan Wells said.

The event, the second the 100 Days group has hosted since the election, will feature several five-to seven-minute “micro-talks” as well as a 20minute break-out session of participants’ choosing. “It’s kind of like speed dating,” said Wells.
Topics include: inner workings of government; public lands; immigration; living wage; effectively lobbying elected officials; how to spot fake news; activist training; nonprofit do’s and don’ts; personal transformation; and something called “power mapping” (not to be confused with power napping.)
And speaking of napping, there will be no time for that. The evening also includes live music from Bob’s Yr Uncle and The Great Contention, bar, food truck and plenty of time to shake all the new- found knowledge on the dance floor.
The event is free (minus food and bevies), although donations will be accepted. All donations go toward Our 1st 100 days and its efforts.

It’s a mash-up made in Westernwear heaven. Sort of. Seems Chaco, the purveyor of the iconic strappy dirtbag river rat footwear, has joined forces with Wrangler, as in tight jeans, big belt buckles, bull riding and snap shirt fame.

Turns out, blondes do have more fun, or at least they get more awards. Last week, Ska Brewing won the gold medal for its True Blonde Ale in the English-Style Pale Ale category at the 2026 World Beer Cup. This is the third win for the Blonde at the World Beer Cup, held in Philadelphia on April 22 and pegged as one of the world’s most prestigious beer competitions.
