Getting gassed

Gas prices are once again giving America something to complain about. And while the local beer meisters at Ska Brewing can’t fix the price at the pump, the brewery is offering one small bit of relief: a new light beer that costs one cent less than the price of a gallon of unleaded gas.

Signs that checks and balances are working this week, with judges: ordering Trump's name be removed from the Kennedy Center; barring his $1.8 billion "slush fund" for his followers; and stopping the closure of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder.

In the slash and burn pile this week: Trump announced he is dismantling an ocean monitoring system that tracks marine ecosystems and warming waters; cancelling rebates for people switching from gas stoves and appliances to electric ones; and nullifying 50 years of limitations on off-highway vehicles on federal lands.

Shit for Brains

Really not sure how I missed this, but a Chinese woman lost 10 years’ worth of memories when she pooped too hard back in May of 2019. She was diagnosed with TGA, or “transient global amnesia,” and even though she regained her memories the next day, her doctors were alarmed because nobody should poop with that much “extreme vascular stress.” That, and they told her to eat more fiber. However, the last 10 years haven’t been that great, so this whole story is starting to sound more like a life hack and less like something that should be “alarming.” I’m cutting out fiber completely.
